Isaiah 51:16 (NIV)
I have put my words in your mouth.
The words that God speaks are His divine power. It is not merely written or printed words, but a Person, Jesus of Nazareth (John 1:14). The words that God puts in our mouths are His will and come with the power to carry out His will. When Ezekiel spoke to the dry bones of all the dead Israelites in the Valley of dry bones, he wasn't just using rhetoric. Instead, the words that God Almighty commanded him to prophesy (Ezekiel 37:1-14) were His infinite power that brought the dead bones back to life. When the Lord Jesus Christ spoke loudly, commanding Lazarus to come out of the tomb, He was not merely uttering pious platitudes. The words that Christ spoke were power, and they were life (John 11:43, John 6:63). The words that the Lord puts in our mouths must be uttered, or their fire and power will consume us (Jeremiah 20:9). God's words are the essence of who the Lord is and are His will, power, and life.
