Deuteronomy 29:6 (NIV)
You ate no bread nor drank any wine or other fermented drink.
A cursory reading of this verse suggests that God Almighty sustained the Israelites in the desert for forty years without any food or water. One can't be sure if that is what this verse means, but it's clear that God sustained the Hebrews miraculously in the desert for a very long period without food, water, or other essentials. This is very similar to how the Lord Jesus Christ was sustained in the desert for forty days and nights by the power of the Holy Spirit without any food or drink. One should not put the Lord to a foolish test by starving. If it is God's will, the Lord can sustain us miraculously without food or drink by the power of His Holy Spirit. A saint does not live on bread alone but is sustained by every word from the mouth of God.
