Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
On Veteran's Day today, remember what it means to be a soldier. A soldier is shot at, sometimes killed, but wounded most of the time. Soldiers must struggle and labor in harsh conditions for minimal reward. They are constantly in danger and in harm's way. A soldier has a tough life with few or no luxuries. Soldiers are sometimes criticized at their own homes for being killers and murderers. They have to endure and cope with trauma and distress, which ordinary people seldom experience. Many of them are permanently scarred for life. This is precisely what a solider of Christ battling demonic forces of darkness goes through. Some of us were both soldiers for Christ and America, but all believers are soldiers of the cross. On this Veterans Day, let us all rededicate ourselves to being holy warriors and soldiers of the cross.
