Insignificant

Psalm 8:4 (ESV)

What is man that you are mindful of him?

Have you ever considered how insignificant and worthless a mortal is compared to an omnipotent God? Even we Christians are so engrossed in ourselves that we think the cosmos revolves around us. As men made in the image of God, our eternal souls are valuable to God but not irreplaceable. God had already wiped out entire humanity once with a flood. He is all set to do that again, this time at the end of time and in the lake of fire. God does not need humanity but loves it. To think that God can not survive without us is sheer lunacy. On the contrary, the Lord would not rather not be without us because He loves us. The next time we are engrossed in our self-importance, remember that we are insignificant specks in this vast universe God created.
